«Kerry is Gay» er en reise inn i Bushland, Three Springs, Pennsylvania. Her finner man kjernevelgerne til den sittende amerikanske presidenten. Med den norske utvekslingsstudenten Herman Skylstad som et symbol på Europas møte med USA, avsløres det hvordan det å være gentleman kan forveksles med å være homofil i Amerika. Og i siste instans avgjøre kanskje tidenes viktigste presidentvalg.
«Kerry is Gay» is a journey into Bush Country: Three Springs, Pennsylvania. Here you find the core voters of the incumbent American President. Using Norwegian exchange student Herman Skylstad as a symbol of the clash between Europe and the US, it is revealed how in America gentlemanly behaviour can be mistaken as being gay. And, in the last instance, this could have been the deciding factor of perhaps the most important presidential election ever. |

Kristian Skylstad er utdannet stillsfotograf. Hans kunstneriske virke er dominert av sosiale studier og avkledning av strukturer. Skylstad går tredje og siste året på Kunstakademiet i Oslo. «Kerry is Gay» er hans første dokumentarfilm og hans avgangsprosjekt på skolen.
Kristian Skylstad was educated as a still photographer. His artistic activities are dominated by social studies and the exposing of structures. Skylstad is in his third year at the Oslo National College of the Arts. «Kerry is Gay» is his graduation project and his first documentary. |
