Afghanistans utenriksminister, Abdullah Abdullah, lever i minnene om sin avdøde venn Ahmed Shah Massoud; den lille jenta Parwana Hazim i savnet av Pakistan; og avisredaktøren Fahim Dashty i de traumene krigen har påført ham. Ved å veve disse personenes særegne historier inn i hverandre, gir denne dokumentaren et innblikk i Afghanistans tragedie og skjønnhet.
Afghanistan's Foreign Minister, Abdullah Abdullah, lives with the memories of his deceased friend Ahmed Shah Massoud; the little girl Parwana Hazim longs for Pakistan; and newspaper editor Fahim Dashty lives with the traumas caused by the war. By weaving these people's extraordinary stories into each other, this documentary gives an insight into Afghanistan's tragedy and beauty. |

Bodil Furu er utdannet ved Statens Kunstakademi i Oslo (2002). Hun har deltatt med videoarbeider på utstillinger og filmfestivaler i Europa og USA. På Kortfilmfestivalen i Grimstad 2003 fikk hun hederlig omtale for filmen «Errol Nordstedt alias Eddie Meduza». I 2000 deltok hun med «Frihet» (1999).
Beate Petersen er utdannet ved Statens Kunstakademi i Oslo (2001). Hun arbeider med video og dokumentar. Kortfilmen «The Aftertaste», laget i samarbeid med Dimitri Lurie, mottok Hederlig Omtale i Capalbio i Italia i 2000.
Bodil Furu graduated from the Oslo National College of the Arts in 2002. Her video art has participated in exhibitions and film festivals in Europe and the US. She received an honorary mention for the film «Errol Nordstedt Alias Eddie Meduza» in Grimstad in 2003. «Freedom» (1999) was screened there in 2000.
Beate Petersen graduated from the Oslo National College of the Arts in 2001. She works with video and documentaries. Her short «The Aftertaste», made with Dimitri Lurie, received the jury´s Special Honour in Capalbio, Italy in 2000. |
