Before dawn, the wheat is quietly undulating on the hillside. Before dawn, people will rise and other people will take away their hope.«Before Dawn» leads us through a long, dialogue-less single-shot sequence about illegal immigration. A fiction film that seems to be close to documentary. |

Bálint Kenyeres (f. 1976 i Budapest) har studert filosofi og filmvitenskap og ble uteksaminert som regissør ved det ungarske film- og dramaakademiet i 2005. Hans første film, «Zárás» (1999) ble vist i konkurranse ved festivalen i Venezia. «Before Dawn» ble vist i hovedkonkurransen i Cannes 2005.
Bálint Kenyeres (b. 1976, Hungary) studied philosophy, film history and film theory before graduating as a director from the Hungarian Film and Drama Academy in 2005. His first film, «Closing Time» (1999), was screened in Venice as well as at more than 30 international festivals, and won a dozen awards. «Before Dawn» was presented in competition at Cannes 2005. |
